Aliaksandr Biruk is an artist and painter. Born in Minsk in 1992 . Currently lives and works in Warsaw.
His first education was in painting. Higher education received in the profession of monumental decorative painting.
The author views the universal and objective through the lens of inner myth, through the subjective and unconscious - but which is a psychological response to physical reality with all its complexity and contradiction.
The artist's work is influenced by his training in monumental art, and as a result, painting is positioned as “creating an environment” for mind existence, being and reflection.
Aliaksand's painting is centered on the themes of poetic experience of oneself in the world, connections with nature and the body. Biruk's work can be viewed through the prism of psychology and therapy. His works are immersed in symbolism, archetypes and emotional states, which are related to themes of self-discovery, search for identity and inner conflicts.
An important element of Biruk's paintings is “ceremonialism” and “ritualism.” He interprets it more as “playing at ritual”—something childish, without a final understanding of meaning and purpose, but mesmerizing. It is some kind of eternal human ability and trait to transform ordinary things from the banal everyday world into sacred artifacts, solemn and meaningful. This ability to give meaning to the source of ancestral power, and to a piece of material or a tree leaf, the meaning of a guide to new dimensions. This thing is somewhat complex and, in some manifestations, can be dangerous. But it is also a source of poetry and a poetic way of experiencing the world.
In 2024 he received the Gaude Polonia scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of Poland.
Aliaksand is the author of several solo and group exhibitions in Tbilisi, Georgia and Hague, Netherlands.
He has also done several large monumental projects as a muralist.
His works are in private collections in the USA, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Thailand, UAE, Ukraine, Georgia.
